Tell us about The Crypto Curator.

I had the fortunate opportunity to come across Bitcoin back in 2011. Randomly hearing about it on Twitter from either Max Keiser or Trace Mayer, I followed them, read the Bitcoin Whitepaper and took the "Red Pill" as everyone in the industry will agree and down the rabbit hole I went. In late 2017, I decided to begin curating a daily news brief named "Crypto Watch" to help people understand just how much was going on with this nascent technology and to prevent them from getting scammed! I still produce the same daily brief in addition to a daily Podcast, YouTube Videos, and provide consultancy to several companies in the Crypto industry.

What is the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever been given?

The best advice came from my mom. When I was 15 years old I wanted to get a job and she got me hired on at Dairy Queen where she worked. She told me, now listen, when you start do exactly what is asked of you and once you've learned the ropes, then you can provide input. As I looked back it was that advice that it helped me through several career changes and even in my entrepreneurial endeavors; listen first then act.

What inspired you to get into your line of work?

I believe a few things inspired me to do what I do today. 1. I love being at the cutting edge of technology. After reading the book, StrengthsFinder 2.0 and filling out the questionnaire to determine my strengths - Futuristic was one of them. My desire to peer over the horizon to see what's coming and to let others know. 2. I love helping others. My Myers Briggs test labels me as a Caregiver (ESFJ) and the description is spot on! 3. I believe the Bitcoin Blockchain technology will revolutionize our world and it jazzes me up that I get to use it to do both 1 and 2 above.

What was the first entrepreneurial idea you ever had?

Any ideas you’re currently incubating? Growing up we had a ton of pecan trees around my house. Every year we'd get a harvest of pecans laying all around our yard. So one year my sister and I asked our mom can we sell these? That began our summer of getting paper bags, a scale, and taking them down to the local store, setting up a stand, and selling bags of pecans for $1 for 2 lbs. I am incubating an idea in my mind but it's way to early to let the cat out of the bag ;)

How would you describe your personal brand?

Connecting. While it can be a simple word, it carries a tremendous amount of power. Synergy can happens when you connect. 1 + 1 = 3. The sum is greater than the individual parts. I love meeting new people and understanding their wants and needs and then looking through the puzzle pieces to make the connection that will add value to them.

What is your best advice to a younger entrepreneur hoping to follow in your footsteps?

Work hard to create VALUE and make a DIFFERENCE in the world EVERYDAY. If you do this successfully, the resources you need to live the life you desire will come by default. Be Bold. Be Courageous. Be You. Do not be afraid to show your true colors because you will miss opportunities to build amazing relationships.

What are your best hacks for productivity?

Have a large bandwidth. While serving in the United States Navy on board Nuclear Powered Submarines, we learned to get up early and go to sleep late. In learning to do this well, it affords you a tremendous amount of time to create.

How do you prioritize self-care?

Give myself grace everyday. While I strive to do my best, there are times I will fall short and it's okay. I dust myself off, assess why I fell short, and push forward again.

Top strategies for networking: Be social on Twitter. It's the door to the world.
Accomplishment you’re most proud of: Serving my country and mentoring your entrepreneurs.
Most life-changing experience: Skydiving and I HIGHLY encourage everyone to take the leap of faith one day.
You want to be remembered for: Giving back.
