Meet Ivan Tchatchouwo - After his athletic days were over, he translated his skills from the basketball court to the business world by becoming the Founder of The Zone LLC and the Sports Performance Director for Prime Performance & Development.
What is your best advice to a younger entrepreneur hoping to follow in your footsteps?
My answer to younger group coming up is to seek information. Be very open minded and go out and truly put yourself on a path to learn everyday. You are in direct control of your outcome if you believe that. Once you understand that, you will never allow yourself to conform to desires and wants of others. I truly had to understand that I wanted the freedom to create and with that came sacrifice and never ending learning and diminishing of the EGO.
Who has inspired you most on your entrepreneurial journey?
My father has inspired me the most. He helped me learn that the unknown is not to be feared. My father lived in Cameroon, New York, Paris, & Turkey and each time had to be there alone. These situations has helped me understand that if you fear what you don't know, you lose an opportunity to grow.
What are your top strategies for networking?
I truly think networking is my biggest gift. After my athlete days were over I struggled to find my best skill set. It wasn't until I understood that I could translate who I was on the basketball court to the business world that I started to prevail in my endeavors. I have learned how to understand people and tendencies through my years of playing and I use that gift to build relationships. People rather do business with people they like and trust!
