Who has inspired you most on your entrepreneurial journey?
Donald Glover - he is a true renaissance man, who understood his many talents and has pursued each and everyone of them - whether it be in comedy, acting, rapping, singing, & producing TV shows. He has a unique ability of being able to focus on one project at a time, solely giving his devout attention to truly make whatever he sets his mind to great. It is hard to be gifted at many things at the same time while practicing self-patience, in order to focus on one talent at a time; he has mastered how to do this.
The amazing part is he continues to try new things and grow. I want to be better than him when I grow up.
What was your most life-changing experience?
During junior year, I suffered from depression and anxiety for some time. I lost faith in my religion, went through a breakup, dealt with family issues, questioned if I had real friends, my time was filled with extracurricular activities and working three jobs to pay for school. As the year was coming to a close, I remembered a promise I made to myself junior year of High School to explore Italy and see if it was a good place for a future honeymoon. Romantic right? Signed up for the Italy Summer Abroad Program and it changed the course of my life.
It helped to remember how strong I’ve always been, things I forgot I loved doing, things I do not even know I loved doing. I unknowingly traveled alone for the first time to various cities like Siena and parts of both Barcelona and Florence, just because I wanted to make the most of my trip and got tired of waiting for others to do some exploring. It ignited my passion for traveling, taught me how to travel alone. to trust myself more, to follow my guts, to take life risks with no regrets, to not be so hard on myself, to open up with an opened heart, understand my emotional side and guided me on a path to help others to do the same.
Isn’t it amazing where life takes to you to help you discover your life path?
Spirit animal: Lone Wolf because even though it excels at surviving on its own, it thrives best within a pack.
Best trip you ever took: Trick question! As a true adventurer, each trip has added to my growth to fully answer this question ;)
