What was the hardest part of building your startup?

On of the more challenging aspects is balancing personal well being with the grind - which often requires a 7 day week for prolonged periods of time. Taking the time to reset and keep a clear mind so you can focus on long and short term initiatives is really important.

What is the best piece of personal advice you’ve ever received? How about advice you’ve given?

A great piece of advise I received recently was to ensure I was chasing fulfillment more than achievement. When chasing achievement, you get the momentary happiness with the accomplishment but then you're focusing on your next goal. Chasing fulfillment allows you to be more well rounded, be happier and be more of a giver than a taker.

What do you want to be remembered for?

I want to make an impact on those who haven't had the opportunities I've had. Traveling is one of the most humbling things you can do - there are so many places around the globe where people do not have access to food, healthcare or education. I have lot of professional goals that I hope to achieve, but my real aim is to utilize resources I'm able to accumulate and make a true impact on people's lives by running a non-profit as efficiently as a business is run and ensuring the greatest net benefit to end users. Skipping past the red tape will be a challenge, but so is everything else in life.

Words you live by: Failure is a much preferred outcome to regret
