[EXPIRED] $5k for Social Impact @ Project Yellow Light
Project Yellow Light is hosting a competition that offers $5k and exposure in iHeart Radio / Ad Council to students who can create Public Service Ads to warn peers about texting while driving. Learn more about the competition and how to apply here.
Project Yellow Light is a scholarship competition designed to bring about change. As an applicant you have one clear mission: encourage your peers to develop and embrace safe driving habits.
For the video competition:
For both the high school and college categories, the first-place winner will receive a scholarship in the amount of $5,000. Second-place winners will receive $2,000. Third-place winners will receive $1,000. Videos are due April 1.
For the billboard competition:
For both high school and college categories, the winner will receive a scholarship in the amount of $2,000. Designs are due March 1.
For the radio competition:
For both high school and college categories, the winner will receive a scholarship in the amount of $2,000. Recordings are due April 1.
In addition to a scholarship, the winning video may be turned into an Ad Council PSA and distributed nationally to approximately 1,600 TV stations. The winning design may be turned into a billboard and displayed on Clear Channel Outdoor digital billboards across the U.S. The winning radio spot may be shared on iHeartRadio's national network and radio stations across the U.S.
Here’s what we’re looking for: A video, billboard design or radio spot created to motivate, persuade and encourage your peers to not drive distracted. You have a unique opportunity to play a key role in spreading this important message. You can speak to your peers on this subject in a way that adults cannot. The more lives you can impact, the more lives you can save.

Submit your video along with your contact information on or before April 1, 2019. We will not accept entries after that date. Don't wait until the last minute.
Finalists will be notified late May 2019 and will be chosen based on criteria provided in the application. Winners will be chosen and announced on the website around June 2019. The winning video will be selected by our celebrity judges and Project Yellow Light along with associates from the Ad Council, NHTSA, National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS), The Martin Agency, and a select group of experts.
All the videos will become property of Project Yellow Light/Hunter Garner Scholarship. We request this so we may use your video to promote safe driving to a broader audience and draw attention to this important topic. We may also share your video on the website or other digital platform (whether you’re the winner of the scholarship or not). We are hoping to share these messages with young adults across the country.
