At M12, our job is to help foster the growth of the best new technologies and act as a connector between visionary entrepreneurs and the Microsoft ecosystem.
Our VC relations team collaborates with other venture capital firms to develop a deep understanding of their portfolio company needs while familiarizing them with Microsoft’s product road map, vision of the future, and technical and partner priorities.
M12 has opened applications for its Female Founders Competition, open to the best B2B startups founded by women. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of investors from M12, Mayfield, and Pivotal Ventures. Twenty ﬁnalists will be invited to pitch their startups at a private ﬁnals event in Silicon Valley, California on March 18—19, 2020, and winning teams will be announced in April.
Four winning B2B companies with at least one female founder will receive the following investment awards in the form of convertible notes:
Enterprise SaaS – US: $2M
Enterprise SaaS – Global: $2M
Deeptech – US: $1M
Deeptech – Global: $1M
Your company must be headquartered in one of the following geographies and meet incorporation requirements specified: United States (including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico), Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada (excluding Quebec), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, or United Kingdom.
There must be at least one founder of your company who identiﬁes as female and is a legal resident 18 years of age or older.
Your company should currently offer or intend to release a product, service, or platform that solves a critical business problem.
Your technology and business model must fall within one of the two entry categories: Enterprise Software-as-a-Service (“Enterprise SaaS”) or Deeptech.
Your company has raised no more than $5M USD (equity or debt) or equivalent amount using foreign exchange rates as of your application date.
