Islands was founded by Greg Isenberg and is backed by the Tier 1 VC firm, Greylock. In addition, they were also listed as one of the Top Tech Companies for 2017, alongside Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and Apple.


Summary of Position: Growth is the heartbeat of Islands. We believe that finding your people unlocks human potential. Key to the equation is the people. The Campus CEO is in charge of the health of Islands from both a growth perspective and content creation perspective.


Requirements: We need a person with an outgoing personality that has very strong on & offline social skills. The kind of person who can have a conversation with someone and have them feeling like they’ve known you for years. Someone that’s resourceful, creative, empathetic and passionate about connecting people.


Islands CORE:

The core of Islands is in the college marketing team, led by the Campus CEO. They make the magic that is Islands a reality. It’s a big deal and the qualities and capabilities required mean you are an incredibly intelligent, talented and highly sought-after professional.



  • Find influencers and get them to bring their communities to Islands

  • Define Islands' strategy on your campus and in your town/city

  • Initiate creative local marketing strategies and user growth campaigns for different segments (classes, dorms, greek life, clubs/societies...)

  • Manage a budget for campus marketing

  • Incentivize influencers appropriately

  • Collect as much social media content as possible and encourage students to post

  • Represent Islands at local events and with local PR



  • Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking

  • Creative solutions driven mindset

  • Relevant experience in consumer service marketing is helpful

  • Stellar networking skills and the ability to make smart partnerships happen

  • Entrepreneurial DNA
