TechCrunch is an online publisher reporting on the business of technology, startups, venture capital funding, and Silicon Valley. Extra Crunch is an additional layer of content, coverage, product and events-based offerings for TechCrunch’s most regular and engaged readers. This will consist of articles that go more in-depth on topics in the entrepreneurship and startup universe.

Extra Crunch will tackle a lot of the practical nuts and bolts issues that confront founders, entrepreneurs, analysts and tech workers — from issues like inclusion and diversity to navigating hiring, legal and product decisions to mental health and wellness in high-performance environments. The content is gathering through the expertise and knowledge of the current or past founders.

The Opportunity:

The publication is seeking individuals who work with startups to apply as a contributor for Extra Crunch who can write on big, actionable insight that is derived from the author’s professional experience and reinforced by data and anecdotes they can provide. Extra Crunch wants to feature subject-matter experts, writing about what they learn from working with startup clients.  

Contributor Notes:

  • Extra Crunch is seeking regular contributions from authors, though they will review one off articles.

  • Some topics to cover:growth marketing, legal issues, recruiting, M&A and company culture and inclusion.

  • Come prepared for a rigorous editing process as Tech Crunch works to host the best writing.

  • The word range for articles is usually 1,500-2,500 but writers are encouraged to write all they have to say on a particular subject.
