About Citypreneurs:

Citypreneurs is a platform for young entrepreneurs to pitch innovation to investors, government and public sector officials, private sector leaders, and peers to receive feedback and find potential backers, join an international community with unlimited access to multi-stakeholder dialogues and networking opportunities, and build up the next generation of entrepreneurial skills.

About The Opportunity:

Citypreneur’s Urban Innovation Challenge is currently accepting applications from young entrepreneurs who want to impact cities and the world by seeking startup solutions towards achieving sustainable development goals. The Challenge, Citypreneurs Seoul 2019, is focused on the following themes each with primary and secondary SDGs for entrepreneurs to innovate on:

  • Healthy & Inclusive Aging: Improve health and wellbeing for all, at all ages, and empower older persons to be economically and socially included in their city.

  • Developing Skills: Upgrade skills and promote lifelong learning for jobs of the future for everyone.

  • Green Consumption & Production: Change the way we make, buy and dispose to protect our planet.

Citypreneurs acknowledges that start-ups may be at various stages of development, and thus offers a dual track system. Applicants will either choose (or be housed) into the Seed Track or Growth Track. The Seed Track is designed for early-stage start-ups still working on their prototype development with flexibility to focus on urban issues specifically identified by partner agencies. The Growth Track is designed for start-ups that have three or more years of experience with market-tested prototypes and are looking to scale up.

The winners of the Challenge will receive investment opportunities from a pool of interested money (50M+ USD), awards from UN and Seoul City Officials, a private Demo Day with investors, and an impact evaluation matrix development guidance. The top 30 finalists will have access to networking opportunities, permanent membership in the platform, tech transfer opportunities, and more.
