What is Next Gen Summit? Who are the attendees?

Next Gen Summit is the premier conference for talented early-stage entrepreneurs. We spend the entire year building our program to be a hub that cultivates the knowledge, resources, mentorship, and connection that young entrepreneurs need to keep pushing forward on their journey to success.

Next Gen Summit 2019 will welcome 1,000+ invite-only attendees from across our global community. Next Gen-ers are passionate, ambitious, talented, and believe in the power of a collaborative community. We welcome leaders at all stages of the entrepreneurial journey: from your pre-seed to your Series B, from college sophomores to serial founders, and so-forth. (Learn more about our community here).

What is Mentoring / Office Hours?

At Next Gen Summit, all invited participants are provided a personalized experience including pre-scheduled 1:1 'Mentor Sessions.' During these meetings, participants have the opportunity to sit down with successful, knowledgeable, and experienced mentors to ask about a select subject matter (equity crowdfunding, publishing, manufacturing, social media marketing, etc).

We're often told that our Office Hours are the most rewarding part of the Summit experience, as these sessions are designed to provide high-impact feedback and guidance in areas our entrepreneurs most need help.  

What are the logistics: time, date, location? What’s my commitment?

Program days for Next Gen Summit are held on Saturday (June 8th) and Sunday (June 9th). Office Hours are open from 10 AM through 4:30 PM on both days.

NGS2019 will be held at Convene’s One Liberty Plaza, located in New York City’s Financial District.

Mentors at Next Gen Summit commit a minimum of 1.5 hours to the Office Hours program, though we’d love to welcome mentors for a larger slot. The 1.5 hour window allows each Mentor to meet with at least 3 attendees. Mentors are welcome to choose any 1.5 hour block across the weekend. Available to join for all of NGS? Heck yeah!

What happens in a Mentor Session? How long are they?

Before the event begins, participants opt-in for Mentor Sessions by selecting areas they’re looking for help in. This means that an attendee has selected you as a mentor based on your bio, topic, and availability.

Sessions last ~25 minutes each, and we encourage all participants to come to their session prepared with specific questions for their mentor.

Often, Mentors will exchange information with participants to continue the dialogue post-Summit, though this is optional.

Who are the mentors? What topics can mentors contribute to?

We’re grateful to welcome a large cohort of experienced startup leaders, corporate executives, early-stage investors, and business leaders across industries as Mentors each year at Next Gen Summit.

Mentors are welcome to choose their topic, which can be general or specific as desired. Sample topics from prior years: sales, PR, startup culture, software development, careers in politics, HealthTech, email marketing, networking, cryptocurrency, and many others.
