Jason Feifer on Storytelling
“The smartest entrepreneurs I've met have been proactive about embracing change. Do not wait until you feel the pain. At that point, it could be too late.”

I'm the editor in chief of Entrepreneur magazine, as well as the host of three podcasts: Problem Solvers, about entrepreneurs solving unexpected problems in their business; Pessimists Archive, a history show about why people resist new things; and Hush Money, a brand-new show that explores the ways money makes life awkward.
The subject area Jason can best help entrepreneurs with:
Storytelling, Media, Personal Branding
The best professional advice Jason can give to entrepreneurs:
Change before you're forced to. The smartest entrepreneurs I've met have been proactive about embracing change. They do it early—making major (and sometimes painful) changes proactively, before their company is suffering or industry is changing. Do not wait until you feel the pain. At that point, it could be too late.
I've become obsessed with the podcasting space, and am very excited to have just launched my show Hush Money. It's the third one I host, but the first to be produced by a major player in the space—iHeartMedia. (my other shows were done differently: Pessimists Archive is independent, and Problem Solvers is through Entrepreneur.) The experience has been fascinating and exciting, and I'm eager to continue to grow my voice in this space.
Words you live by: "Permanent beta" - it's a phrase Reid Hoffman uses to describe how entrepreneurs should live. We aren't finished products; we're constantly in refinement.
Favorite place to work: The airplane. I have two kids, so when I travel for work, I'm alone and cut off from wifi and it is AMAZING. I am more productive on planes than anywhere else.
Healthy habit: Entrepreneur is on the 11th floor of a building in midtown Manhattan, and I take the stairs every morning.
