Brandon Steiner on Sales

After three plus decades as the President and CEO of Steiner Sports, I am now onto the next stage of my entrepreneurial career! In 1987 I founded Steiner Associates (later Steiner Sports) with $4,000 and a Mac II computer in hopes of filling the void in the market of an agency providing sports talent for corporate speeches, appearances, and brand campaigns. 30 years later, Steiner Sports had become a $30 million business that worked with the biggest names in the game such as the New York Yankees, Stephen Curry, Notre Dame University, Aaron Rodgers, and Madison Square Garden Sports. Today, I am on my next journey to create a unique marketplace that offers sports items directly from personal collections of athletes, teams, leagues, and hobbyists.

The best professional advice Brandon can give to entrepreneurs:
Your first idea is rarely your best idea, but you have to start with a idea. I encourage all entrepreneurs to dream BIG and spread their wings, but also realize that starting a business from the ground up is a process. That "ah hah" idea you have in the shower is the spark, but may not wind up being your final result.
I am most l proud of how much I have been able to give back to individuals, families, and organizations in need. When I sold Steiner Sports to the Omnicom Group in 2000, I realized I would never have to work another day in my life, but also understood I can use my role within the company to help others. Since that time I have been able to raise millions of dollars for amazing non-profits such as Turn2 Foundation, Family Services of Westchester, Syracuse University, and the New York Police Department.
